Please give us a call to confirm you've returned home.

  • Can I have someone share pet-sitting responsibilities?

SPS places a high priority on the safety and welfare of our pet sitters and your cherished pets. This is how we manage shared pet-sitting duties:

    Contracting Policies:

    • Exclusive Contract: Our pet-sitting services are exclusively provided by SPS. For this reason, our insurance policies do not extend to cover the presence of visitors or other caregivers in the home during the provision of our services. Therefore, we ask that customers exclusively engage Society Pet Sitter, Inc for all their pet-sitting needs.
    • Safety Concerns: For the safety of our pet sitters and your pets, having multiple caregivers in the home can create risks. Customers are kindly requested to avoid sharing pet-sitting responsibilities with other individuals to maintain a safe and secure environment.

    Service Continuity:

    • Consistency in Care: Exclusively engaging Society Pet Sitter, Inc ensures consistent care for your pets. Our pet sitters are well-acquainted with your pet's schedule, likes, and any specific requirements, guaranteeing top-notch care for them at all times.
    • Quality Assurance: By placing your pet's care solely in our hands, you can rest assured that our experienced and committed pet sitters will consistently fulfill your requirements and go above and beyond to meet your pet's needs.

    Customer Agreement:

    • Responsibility Acknowledgment: By contracting solely with Society Pet Sitter, Inc., customers acknowledge their understanding of and agreement to our policies regarding shared pet-sitting responsibilities.
    • Discontinuation of Services: We have the right to stop taking care of your pets if we find out that someone else is doing the tasks we agreed to do, or if there is proof of neglect in the care given to your pet during their scheduled times.
  • What supplies do I need to prepare for SPS?

It's important to have enough essential pet items on hand to make sure your pet is comfortable and well-cared for while you're not around. If you run out of supplies, we can pick them up for you and charge you accordingly. Here's a list of supplies we suggest having available:

    Food and Treats:

    • Ample Supply: Make sure you have an adequate supply of pet food for the entire time you'll be away, including any special dietary requirements or prescribed diets.
    • Treats: Remember to keep a stock of your pet's preferred treats for reinforcing positive conduct and offering mental stimulation.

    Litter and Bedding:

    • Litter: Make sure you have sufficient litter to last for the duration of your absence if you own a cat. Store additional bags or containers for convenient access.
    • Bedding: Make sure you have a good supply of bedding material or cage lining for pocket pets or birds.

    Medications and Supplies:

    • Medications: Please ensure you leave enough supply and clear administration instructions if your pet requires any medications or supplements.
    • First Aid Kit: Remember to have a first aid kit specifically for pets, containing items like bandages, antiseptic wipes, and styptic powder for treating minor injuries.
  • What is your walking policy regarding weather?

The safety and well-being of your furry family members is our priority at Society Pet Sitter, especially during extreme weather conditions. Read on to find out more about our temperature and weather policies:

    Heat Index Above 100 Degrees:

    • Limited Outdoor Activity: If the heat index is higher than 100 degrees Fahrenheit, outdoor activities for dogs will be limited, including short walks for dogs accustomed to being outdoors in high temperatures.
    • Precautionary Measures: We take precautions to ensure the safety of your pet, such as providing ample shade and water, and watching for signs of heat exhaustion.

Severe Storms with Thunder and Lightning:

    • Safety Concerns: If there is a storm with thunder and lightning, outdoor walks are avoided. Research shows that loud noises and unpredictable weather cause stress and anxiety in pets.
    • Indoor Time: During storms, dogs are taken outside briefly for bathroom breaks but spend the rest of the time indoors while we provide companionship and comfort.

    Adjustments for Comfort:

    • Temperature Control: We will adjust the thermostat if the temperature in your home is too warm or cold for your pets.

    Continuous Monitoring and Communication:

    • Observation and Feedback: Our pet sitters monitor your pet’s behavior and well-being during extreme weather conditions. We also provide feedback to keep you up to date with your pet's care.

    Customer Input and Preferences:

    • Customer Preferences: We value your feedback and preferences concerning your dog's outdoor activities in extreme temperatures. Your pet's well-being and safety are our main concerns, and we aim to honor your requests whenever we can.
  • How will you maintain my pet's routine?

We understand how important it is to maintain your pet’s routine, including feeding times, playtimes, and outdoor potty breaks. Here’s how we handle visit timing:

    Prioritizing Your Pet’s Routine:

    • Consistency is Key: Our goal is to keep your pets on their regular schedule while you're away. This will help to minimize disruption and ensure their comfort.
    • Flexibility With Visit Times: We strive to schedule your requested visit times, but we may not be able to guarantee precise times due to variables like traffic, unforeseen delays, and the requirements of other customers.

    Visit Timing Guidelines:

    • Approximate Timing: Visits are usually scheduled within a 1-2-hour window. This allows us the flexibility to manage our schedule and provide timely care for your pets.
    • Daily Visits: We typically arrange for two to three visits each day for our customers, with intervals in between. This way, your pets will get regular attention and care all day long. We also provide longer visits for those who want their pets to have extra companionship.

    Priority Visits for Medication Needs:

    • Medication Considerations: We prioritize scheduling for pets who need time-sensitive medications administered to ensure timely and accurate dosing.
    • Special Arrangements: Let us know if your pet has specific medication needs or requires additional visits for any reason.

    Open Communication:

    • Stay Informed: You'll always be informed of our visit schedule and any necessary adjustments to ensure transparency and peace of mind.
    • Feedback and Adjustments: We encourage you to provide feedback on our visit timing and/or suggestions for any adjustments to better meet your pet’s needs.
  • Why do you require two sets of keys?

Our team prioritizes the safety and well-being of your pets, even in unexpected situations. Here’s why we ask for two sets of keys for your convenience and our contingency planning:

    Ensuring Reliable Pet Care:

    • Emergency Preparedness: At times, unexpected situations may occur, like a pet sitter losing or damaging their key. By having two sets of keys, we can guarantee continuous care for your pets, regardless of the circumstances.
    • Continuity of Service: Having two sets of keys ensures that your pets will get the necessary care, even if unforeseen circumstances arise while you are away.

    Key Management and Security:

    • Secure Storage: We store one set of keys in our office to ensure they are always available in case of emergencies or last-minute scheduling changes.
    • Pet Sitter Access: The designated pet sitter is provided with the second set of keys to ensure they have easy access to your home for scheduled visits.

    Customer Privacy and Security:

    • Confidentiality: Your privacy and security are of the utmost importance. All keys are discreetly marked with your pet’s name and last name only, and no address is listed on the key tag.
    • Peace of Mind: We strive to provide you with peace of mind and confidence knowing that your keys are safely stored and managed by SPS.
